Sometimes, you get people posting your work without credit. Other times, your ideas spawn inspiration.

Social media can be awesome. The number of ways you can so quickly connect with people of similar interests is wicked cool.

This time, I was able to spark inspiration in someones mind when I shared my photo of the SpaceX Falcon 9 first stage landing in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

I took the above photo from NASA’s Vehicle Assembly roof, 526 feet above the ground – here:

Yankee Stadium could be places on top of the building and you’d still have an acre left over for parking.

If you cut it up into pieces, you could fit 3.5 Empire State Buildings.

It is the 6th largest building in the world, by volume.

The blue area in the american flag is the size of a regulation basketball court.

I was lucky enough to be one of the media personnel selected to have this opportunity. It is usually prioritized by the organization that you are working for, and I have no one but Ars Technica and the reputation they hold for this opportunity.

It was an honor to be representing them at KSC.

Parv Parkhiya, a Facebook friend of mine, is the one behind this beautiful, flattened, minimalist artwork.

Created using Photoshop, he got the idea for this after seeing my photo, and wanting a flattened look for a desktop wallpaper.

I love seeing derivative works like these.

Stuff like this is one of the many reasons I do what I do.

This, may be the most fulfilling: sparking inspiration/ideas in others’ minds as I pursue my own ambition.

Have you created artwork like this? Have an idea/suggestion for a photo? Drop me a line! I’d love to hear from you!

I am always exploring new ideas… Follow me on social media for more of these throughout the month!
